The annual GQ Travel Awards ceremony took place in Moscow. The award was established by the American international monthly men's magazine GQ in 2018. Its peculiarity is that the best countries, cities, hotels, airlines, airports, etc are chosen not by a special jury or editorial board, but by readers - by an open vote on the magazine's website.St. Petersburg became the winner in the key category - Best City. The Northern Capital of Russia also received two more GQ Travel Awards in other categories. The Xander Bar at the Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace won the Best Hotel Bar Award, and the Mandara Spa at the Lotte Hotel was named Best Hotel Spa. The second place in the Best Business Hotel nomination was taken by the Kempinski Moika 22 Hotel in St. Petersburg, and Pulkovo was the second in the Best Airport nomination. Percorso - one of the restaurants at the Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace, took third place in the Best Hotel Restaurant nomination.
In the course of many other online polls, St. Petersburg was recognized as one of the most beautiful cities for evening walks, the best city in Russia to spend a weekend in 2021, and also took first place among the most popular tourist routes in Russia in the summer of 2021.
