Georgia

The Republic of Georgia is situated in the South-East of Europe and occupies the Central and Western part of Transcaucasia. It is bordered on the North by Russia, on the East by Azerbaijan, on the South by Armenia and Turkey. In the West it is washed by the Black Sea. The territory of Georgia is mostly mountainous; more than a third is covered by dense forests. In the north, the border with Russia runs along the main ridge of the Caucasus Mountains, where there are the highest points of the country, the highest of which is mount Shkhara (5068 m). The capital of Georgia is Tbilisi. The total area amounts 69.7 thousands sq. km.

Georgia is something mysterious, shrouded in legends, a country with an ancient history and unique culture, kind and sympathetic people, a country of flowers and songs, a country of temples, mountains and blue sky. The history of the country is a long list of ups and downs of different empires, the attempts of the external invasions, violence and wars. But at the same time, this country has a huge cultural heritage.
