JOURNEY THROUGH THE GASTRONOMY OF SIBERIA

05 October 2024

From August 1 to August 19, the festival of Siberian cuisine TAIGASTRO takes place in Russia. It shows the traditions of Siberian cuisine in all their diversity. They are based on the use of taiga products in the creation of dishes in conjunction with traditional and modern culinary techniques. 106 restaurants from 23 cities of Russia participate in the festival.

For the first time, TAIGASTRO was held in August 2021, and initially it was conceived as a Siberian gastronomic festival, where the main goal was to demonstrate the uniqueness of Siberian cuisine. Siberia is the birthplace of ethnic diversity, a vast territory where each nationality living on it has kept its own culinary traditions for centuries. The main idea of the festival is to show the variety of recipes of Siberian cuisine, which uses game, local fish, wild berries, mushrooms, herbs and, of course, products from local farms.

The festival also increases the tourist attractiveness of Siberia.

If you want to get to know this region of Russia better, MIR Travel Company will be happy to organize an unforgettable trip to the cities of Siberia for you.
