About company

   The MIR Travel Company was established in the beginning of the Perestroika as a private company being one of the first ones in St. Petersburg.  The founders of the company were three people.  Not having any seed capital or anything else, but the experience in tourist services they had gained in the soviet years in the Travel and Sightseeing Bureau, they started providing services on incoming tourism.  Tourists from Greece and Spain were the first guests we were to welcome.  Back then our office was a 12 meter room in one of St. Petersburg hotels.

   Today our company is accommodated in a large office located on the main street of the city - Nevsky Prospect, where 42 professionally trained employees are always at the service of our clients.  The company also has offices in Moscow, Barnaul, and Cherepovets.  The total number of managers, guides, and drivers employed is over one hundred people.  The sustainably developing company is providing services to over thirty five thousand tourists per year having long term relations with leading European and world companies and firms.  The company is divided into several departments: cruise travel department provides services to dozens of thousands of passengers of river and maritime cruise vessels. Tourists from Latin America, USA, Japan, Spain, England, Australia, Germany, India, France, China and other countries receive services in the international tourism department. And sightseers from all regions of Russia are being welcomed in the department of services for Russian tourists. Employees of the MIR Company speak six languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Chinese.

   We participate in 12-15 specialized international tourist expositions per year presenting informative tourism programs, conducting of symposiums and conferences, corporative events and meetings on various professional occasions, booking and accommodation in hotels of all categories, transfers and cultural programs, tours we form ourselves and tours formed in accordance with the interests of our clients for various age categories and aimed at fitting different budgets.

   The company was awarded numerous international and governmental diplomas and rewards for professional and accurate conduct of business. MIR is a member of RATA and National Academy of Tourism since 1993, member of the Association of St. Petersburg Tourist Enterprises, member of the Hermitage Friends' and Tsarskoye Selo Reserve Museum Club. Starting with 2007 MIR  is the founder of professional The World of Sightseeing (MIR EXKURSIY) Magazine published for interpreters working in the field of travel services and Russian-speaking guides.

   The Company is characterized with a tendency of constantly increasing the amount of services provided on hotel accommodations, tours, and transfers.  The Company is available for everyone.  The partnership opportunities are not yet exhausted and there are chances of further developing the tourist business in all segments of the market.
